Para-aramid
Synthesized fiber was first developed by DuPont and its piot product was launched in 1971. Para-aramid is Aromatic Polyamide fiber which Pheny 1 Group is mixed with all main chain in the form of para-aramid.

Structure and Benefits
Produced by liquid crystal spinning in sulfuric acid solution, Para-aramid has unusually high strength, elasticity and vibration absorbing properties and used as support materials, bulletproof materials and belts. Products fully stay intact and less contraction occurs by heat due to superior sealing strength.
Special Features
- High chemical resistant, not dissolved easily in benzene
- Good electric insulation effect, heat resistant
- Five times stronger than steel wire based on an equal thickness basis
- Drawbacks : Because Para-aramid wets readily and loses its strength when it occurs, it may require additional waterproof processing
Applications
Originally DuPont supplied tire cords to tire manufacturing companies. This is due to the special traits of Para-aramid, which is lighter than ordinary wires and great combination with rubber. Since then they have been widely used for belts, fireproof clothing, concrete building support materials and so on. Due to the excellent bulletproof properties they are popularly used as bulletproof clothing or bulletproof caps. The most recent Para-aramid, through newly developed spinning and weaving engineering method, has seen dramatic improvements in energy absorption efficiency, lightness, and increased flexibility.
